Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare is a lawyer, politician and currently a member for the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana representing the Techiman North Constituency.
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare was born on 1st March, 1974 as the third of ten girls to her parents, late Hon. Adjei-Mensah - a lawyer, businessman and Politician and Mrs. Adjei-Mensah, a businesswoman.
Hon. Ofosu-Agyare attended St. Monica's Secondary School in Mampong, Kumasi where she obtained both her O & A level certificates. She then proceeded to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, and proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon to pursue further studies in the field of Law. She obtained honors in LLB in 2002 and degree in law in 2004.
Hon. Ofosu-Adjare started her legal practice with the Holy Trinity Chambers in Kumasi, Ashanti Region in 2004 and rose to become a partner of the Firm. She also became a lawyer for the Legal Aid Scheme in the Ashanti Region.
In 2009, Hon. Ofosu-Agyare was appointed to the Board of the Tema Oil Refinery by President Atta Mills, a position she served until 2013.
On March 1 2013, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama to the newly created/realigned Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts.
As Sector Minister, she worked creditably with fourteen (14) Agencies under her ministry to introduce innovativ tourism programs such as ExploreGhana Project, National Festival for Arts and Culture, and Back to Seychelles Trip, among others as an addition to Ghana's Tourism products & Offerings.
Hon. Ofosu-Agyare currently serves as member of the Appointments and Health Committees of Parliament.
Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare is married to Mr. Lawrence Ofosu-Adjare, a Health Service Administrator with whom she has two (2) children, Lawrence Paapa Ofosu-Adjare and Lauren Maame Ofosu-Adjare. She is also the daughter of the late Isaac Kwadwo Adjei-Mensah, former member of Parliament for Techiman North who served as Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing during the Rawlings government.
