I think the communication in relation to the above topic must change immediately. The decision to cancel it was well thought through and made sense.

1.For over 20 years the allowa placed an admission quota of 40% of qualified applicants
annually.

2.In effect,60% of all qualified applicants were denied admission because of allowa.
3.Note that the allowa was replaced with students loan and not cancelled

4.So the 1st admissions in 2015 after the cancellation increased enrolment from 9000 to 15000,a positive effect of no quota.

5.Again,under NDC trainees were paid 12 months a year but under NPP its 8 months.

6.Without allowa,trainees were posted direct after training without licensure exams and national service.

7.With allowa,you have to pass licensure and do service before posting.
8.The 1 year of service is waste and retrogression in salary,social security and professional progression.

9.On salary loss,the 1st batch of no allowa teachers completed 2018 and a diploma teacher posted direct will have earned about Gh1500 a month under NDC.The same teacher as service person under NPP earns Gh500 a month.A loss of Gh1000 a month or Gh12,000 a year.

10.The Gh12,000 lost is far greater than the Gh4800 the trainee received in total for 3 years in college.They were paid an allowa of Gh200 for 2 semesters of 8 months a year

11.On social security, the teacher under NDC would have saved 1 year contribution whereas the service teacher under NPP will save zero since ssnit is not paid under national service.This affects one's pension.

12.On professional progresion or scheme of of service,it takes a new teacher 5 years to be promoted to the next rank.So the teacher under NDC would have reduced it by a year whiles the NPP service teacher will be marking time and wasting the 1 year.
