The Bono region has recorded its first case of Covid-19.
The first case of the region was recorded in Sampa in the Jaman North District Wednesday May 6.
A deep throat source who confirmed the recorded case said, the victim of the novel coronavirus is a foreign national from one of Ghana’s neighbouring country who have entered the country through unapproved route.
The source added that, the victim was among some ten foreign nationals who were arrested in Sampa in the Jaman North District and remanded by the Berekum Circuit Court for two weeks.
The suspects, eight men and two females believed to be Togolese were arraigned before the Berekum Circuit Court on Thursday 30th April 2020 following their arrest on April 27, 2020.
The Ghana Health Service has confirmed at its official COVID-19 website. Meanwhile, Ghana’s case count now stands at 3,091 with 303 recoveries and 18 deaths.
